"Does this ERP have AI?" is the wrong question.

The right one is simpler, and most vendors would rather you not ask it: is your data, your process, and your team actually ready for AI to act on it?

Vendors now market almost every ERP as "AI-native" or "built for the AI era." None of that changes what AI actually needs to work. AI is a layer on top of your business data. It runs on clean master data, structured transactions, and consistent process discipline, regardless of which ERP label sits on the box.

When a vendor calls their product an AI ERP, they typically mean one of two things.
