Upgrade OS X Mavericks for Free

Good News for all the Mac Users across the world.‭ ‬Apple released its next generation operating system OS X Mavericks on October‭ ‬22.‭ ‬It is officially available on Mac Apple Store for FREE download.‭ ‬Earlier upgrades of the operating system cost around‭ ‬$20-$30‭ ‬but Apple has made‭ ‬OSX Mavericks free.‭ ‬For all earlier‭ ‬Mac OSX‭ ‬versions Apple choose cat names like Cheetah,‭ ‬Puma,‭ ‬Jaguar,‭ ‬Panther,‭ ‬Tiger,‭ ‬Leopard,‭ ‬Snow Leopard,‭ ‬Lion,‭ ‬and Mountain Lion.‭ ‬OS X is not named after a car,‭ ‬Apple spokesperson quoted‭ ‬“We are running out of cats‭”‬ and hence the name Mavericks.‭

Who can Upgrade to OS X Mavericks:

Hardware:

• iMac‭ (‬Mid‭ ‬2007‭ ‬or newer‭)
• MacBook‭ (‬Late‭ ‬2008‭ ‬Aluminum,‭ ‬or Early 2009‭ ‬or newer‭)
• MacBook Pro‭ (‬Mid/Late‭ ‬2007‭ ‬or newer‭)
• MacBook Air‭ (‬Late‭ ‬2008‭ ‬or newer‭)
• Mac mini‭ (‬Early‭ ‬2009‭ ‬or newer‭)
• Mac Pro‭ (‬Early‭ ‬2008‭ ‬or newer‭)
• Xserve‭ (‬Early‭ ‬2009‭)

Earlier‭ ‬Mac OSX‭ ‬Version Requirements:

• Snow Leopard‭ (‬10.6.8‭)
• Lion‭ (‬10.7‭)
• Mountain Lion‭ (‬10.8‭)
• Not all OS can upgrade directly to Mavericks as‭ ‬if you are running Leopard and‭ ‬then you have to buy Snow Leopard‭ (‬latest version‭) ‬and then you can upgrade to OS X Mavericks.‭

Memory Requirement:

• 2GB of memory and‭ ‬8GB of available space

Steps to Upgrade OS X Mavericks:

Step‭ ‬1:‭ ‬Check For above requirements,‭ ‬If you have qualified for above requirements then you can start to upgrade your Mac OS.‭
Step‭ ‬2: Create a Back Up,General upgrades retain all folders and files but it is advised to keep a backup of all important Files.
Step‭ ‬3:‭ ‬Power‭ & ‬Wifi‭ ‬:‭ ‬Make sure that you have connected to power source and Wifi or Ethernet Connection.‭ ‬Interrupting upgrade can cause errors in OS.
Step‭ ‬4: Download Files,‭ ‬Check Apple App Store for free upgrade option.‭ ‬Click on Free upgrade on right top corner.‭ ‬After files are downloaded,‭ ‬an installation wizard will appear and will guide how‭ ‬to install OSX Mavericks.‭ ‬Click Agree and Install button on wizard and enter‭ ‬password.‭
Step‭ ‬5: Restart:‭ ‬Restart the system when prompted or Mac will restart automatically in‭ ‬30‭ ‬Sec.
