About the Client
Avanti manufactures and exports Toys, Hardline, and Rope products to pet markets across the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, and Japan, operating across four factory locations with an annual turnover of ₹202 crore (FY ending March 2025). The business had scaled significantly, but the technology had not kept pace - merchandisers were tracking orders in Excel, gate entries lived in physical registers, and subcontracting ran entirely outside the ERP.
A Business That Had Outgrown Its Systems

Order Management and Merchandising
A single Sales Order now drives every downstream transaction. Merchandisers create all Material Requests in one click, accounting dimensions flow automatically to every purchase order and stock entry without manual tagging, and a buyer-wise tracking report shows ordered, procured, produced, and shipped quantities in real time.
Procurement and Subcontracting
Every Purchase Order, Material Request, and Subcontracting Order is linked to its Sales Order so no procurement happens without a buyer commitment behind it. The full subcontracting loop - material transfer to job worker, receipt of finished goods, auto-creation of purchase receipts - is now inside the system, with validations that make it impossible to record a GRN or subcontracting receipt without the preceding steps being done.
Gate Pass Management
A custom Gate Pass module was built so that no stock entry, GRN, or material transfer can be recorded in ERPNext until the physical movement has been logged at the gate. Every entry is tagged to the correct factory gate across all four locations. The stores team gets a combined Gate Pass and Stock Movement report that shows exactly what entered or left, when, and against which ERP document.
Production and Work Orders
Work Orders are created against Production Plans, which are driven by Sales Orders, with source and target warehouses auto-filled based on location. Job cards generate automatically, removing manual daily production booking. Partial raw material consumption, component returns, and subcontracting receipts are all handled within the system with the validations to match.
Time and Action Planner
A full Time and Action planning system was built inside ERPNext. For every Sales Order, a complete milestone plan is created in one click - from BOM finalisation through fabric procurement, goods receipt, production start, quality inspection, to ex-factory shipment. Planned dates calculate from configurable templates and a holiday calendar. Actual dates capture automatically from ERPNext transactions: when a GRN is done, fabric receipt is marked; when a Work Order closes, production is marked done. Merchandisers and HODs see a colour-coded dashboard showing which orders are on track, at risk, or delayed. Automated alerts fire before due dates and daily thereafter for overdue tasks.
