Problem Statement
Even as the app successfully helped users escape endless scrolling and discover quality content, the team sought to elevate the overall user experience. Their ambitious plan included revamping the app’s UI, implementing a monetization strategy with both free and premium tiers, and introducing innovative features like a reward-based referral program and personalized profile analytics. - Referral Program & Advanced Filters – We integrated a referral program using deep links that lets users earn exciting bonuses simply by sharing their unique links. Plus, we added enhanced filters, allowing users to search by genre, mood, director, and more!
- Integrated Payment Gateway- We integrated a Razorpay-powered payment gateway, allowing users to upgrade to a premium binge-watching experience with in-app payments. Users can choose their preferred payment method and unlock exclusive features for an elevated entertainment journey.
- Weekly Recommendations- We integrated a dynamic system wherein users receive a personalized weekly watchlist feed tailored to their viewing habits and preferences. This feed comprises new releases, hidden gems, and timeless classics, ensuring an engaging selection that resonates with your interests.
- Upcoming Movies- Find your next Favorite film! Our new section features curated timelines of upcoming releases, filterable by genre and content type. Plus, revisit your movie history with a timeline of past viewings.
- Communities for Every Taste- We added a community section where users can create or join groups dedicated to their Favorite genres, directors, or eras, and connect with fellow movie lovers.
- Personal Analytics- Users can track your movie journey and discover personalized recommendations in our new profile analytics section. View your watch history, reviews, lists, followers, and a year-over-year summary of your movie activity.
- Clips Section- We added a new Clips section where users can dive into detailed reviews and watch bite-sized video clips from other movie and TV fans, all designed to help you find your next obsession.
- Instant Share- We added a flow that allowed users to instantly share reviews, clips, communities, lists, and profiles with a single tap.
