PHED Manipur

Jalboard is the government agency responsible for supplying water. The Manipur Jalboard government set up smart water meters in homes. The reading is recorded in the meter depending on the water consumption in each house.

But there is no system developed that reads the meter reading automatically and generates the bills so the Manipal government needs to process the bills manually.

To process the bills manually, the Manipal government is facing problems so they proposed an initiative to develop an automated billing system.

The automated billing system will read the readings from the smart meter readings and generate the invoice based on the meter ID taking into consideration various tax, penalties, and discount factors.

On the system, the customer will be able to view/download their bill by entering the Consumer number or registered mobile number, view the bills, make the payment for the bill and download the receipts.

Auriga IT developed an automated billing solution for the Manipal government.

It is very difficult and cumbersome to manually produce the bills for every home. Auriga developed an automated system for the Manipur Jal board. The system itself reads the readings from the smart meter and generates the bills accordingly.

To view, the bills customer needs to provide the consumer number or registered mobile number on the system. The system checks the information entered by the customer and retrieves the meter readings from the database associated with the consumer number/mobile number. If the customer is not registered on the portal a message will be displayed to the customer saying that entered credentials are not matched.

The customer can download the bills and pay them via the portal. The customer can make the payment via UPI, Netbanking, Card, and Wallet. The customer will be able to download the payment receipt and check the payment history.

The customers are now up to date through the SMS they receive on their mobile regarding due bill reminders, bill dispatched, and transactions successful/failed.

The customer will be able to raise complaints. The customer will be able to view the status of their added complaints and reply to the existing complaints.
