Equiplus India, based in Kanpur, is a premier 100% export-oriented manufacturer specializing in sports, equestrian, and pet accessories. Operating out of a 160,000 sq. ft. vertically integrated plant, Equiplus manages a massive production capacity of 450,000 units per month.

The Challenge: HR Complexity in High-Volume Manufacturing

As Equiplus scaled, their manual human capital management processes created fragmented data streams and high operational risks.

Critical Pain Points:

  • Multi-Tier Workforce: Managing four distinct categories (Bank, Monthly Cash, Daily Wage, and Trainees) made payroll a logistical nightmare.

  • Manual Attendance Logic: Tracking hyper-specific rules (e.g., penalties for the 3rd late entry) manually led to frequent disputes.

  • Deduction Discrepancies: A major flaw existed where deductions were calculated against CTC instead of Gross Salary, posing compliance risks.

  • Data Blind Spots: Lack of centralized insights into attrition, labor costs, and leave liabilities.


The Solution: A Bespoke HRMS Powered by Frappe

Auriga IT architected a specialized HR and Payroll solution using the Frappe HRMS framework. This low-code approach allowed for rapid deployment of a custom-fit system without the rigidity of off-the-shelf software.

1. Biometric Integration & Automated Attendance

We linked the HRMS directly to on-site biometric devices. The system now automatically applies complex late-entry and short-leave policies, displaying real-time counts on a stakeholder dashboard.

2. 100% Indian Statutory Compliance

The core payroll engine was re-engineered to ensure absolute accuracy in:

    • EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund): Automated employer/employee contribution scaling.

    • ESI (Employees’ State Insurance): Precise eligibility tracking and deductions.

    • TDS (Tax Deducted at Source): Integrated management for both Old and New Tax Regimes.

3. Intelligent Onboarding & Security

A custom module was developed to check Aadhaar numbers against historical records during onboarding. This prevents accidental re-hiring of blacklisted staff and provides deep insights into attrition patterns.

4. Employee Empowerment via PWA

We launched a Progressive Web App (PWA), allowing the workforce to access salary slips and leave balances directly from their smartphones, fostering transparency and trust.
